Backlink checker and Google Countries additions, V3.1.17

Wed, Feb 10th 2010, 20:04

Hey guys,

We’ve got lots of tricks up our sleeve, and lately we have been busy performing some magic on Traffic Travis!

Firstly, we have included heaps more countries to the list of Google search engines you can use – Portugal, Mexico and Philippines to name a few. Check them out!

Secondly, you can now use the backlink checker to source more useful information than ever before. The backlink checker will now tell you if a link is no-follow or not, and it will also provide you with the number of external and internal links the page has which links to you..so now you can really see how useful those links are for you! (or your competitors).

Another thing we have done is greatly enhanced the Page Analysis sitemap import section. It now imports the sitemaps faster and there is an option which will mean it goes to that page and grabs the first keyword inside any meta keywords you have, just to make your life a little easier.

We hope you enjoy making the most of our helpful tool :)

SEO Analysis Update, Google PR Update: v3.1.16

Wed, Dec 16th 2009, 15:27

We are on a roll! It's only been two weeks since our last blog post and here we are with more good news for you.

Traffic Travis V3.1.16 has just been released!

Download the latest version here

You will notice a couple of changes we have made. These include enabling the selection of your result count in the SEO Analysis section, and a change in the method of obtaining Google Page Rankings so that this is now faster.

We have also fixed a few things. There was a memory leak in the PPC Analysis section, and we permitted the use of a hyphen (-) so that you can now research terms such as 'under-rated' - which we hope does not apply to your search engine rankings!

That is all for now, but you can rest assured we will be back again with more good news for our Traffic Travis users :)

Page Analysis Tool for SEO: v3.1.8

Mon, Sep 14th 2009, 18:49

In addition to the usual tweaks and fixes that we include in every new Traffic Travis version, our latest release has a few new features that you should find very useful indeed!

We know you all love the page analysis tool of Traffic Travis, so this time we’ve paid special attention to this part of the program to see how we can make it even better!

Here’s what we’ve come up with…

First off, you can now analyze multiple pages at the same time! That’s right, no more going page to page to analyze its SEO score– you can now analyze an entire site’s worth of pages simultaneously! This will save you mountains of time!

Secondly, leading off from this function is the ability to import an XML sitemap into Traffic Travis so that you don’t even have to manually enter the page urls. Once you’ve important the sitemap, you can easily flick through the list and delete the pages you don’t want to analyze and adding keywords for a specific page. We’ve designed this to work using your keyboard with your arrow, return and delete key to make it that much faster!

Finally, you can now save sites and keywords into a project! No having to re-enter all those sites and keywords every time you open the software – you can create a project for each of your sites, or if you are targeting a phrase against a bunch of site, either way saving into reports with save you tons of time.

We hope you enjoy these new features – as you can see they give you way more power for analyzing your on-page SEO.

But we are never finished coming up with new ideas and tweaks to the software! In the coming weeks we are going to be changing up the algorithms, which will make the page analysis tool far more accurate.

Until then!

Thanks heaps!

SEO Analysis Feature for Google: v3.1

Sun, May 24th 2009, 18:49

Traffic Travis is proud to announce two exciting new features on both free and paid versions.

SEO Analysis Feature

SEO Analysis allows you to pull the top 20 results from Google (via any international Google homepage location, e.g. .uk or .au) and quickly assess various on and off page SEO statistics for each site.

For each site you can see:

  • Rank - Where they were placed in the Google search
  • Website - The url
  • PR - The Google Page Rank of that page
  • Age - The age of the domain in years
  • BL - The number of back links to that very page
  • BLS - The number of back links for that whole site
  • TLB - Top back links, these are backlinks from EDU and GOV sites
  • DMOZ - If the domain is listed in DMOZ
  • YAHD - If the domain is listed in the Yahoo directory
  • Title - If the phrase you entered is found in the title tag
  • Description - If the phrase you entered is found in the meta description tag
  • H1 Tag - If the phrase you entered was found in a h1 tag on the page
  • GCA - Age of the Googles copy of the page (in Googles cache)
  • CEXT - How many sites with the same TLD (ie .uk, .au, .nz) from where the initial search was done

This new feature will save you HOURS of searching and checking sites individually, and being able to select international Google locations allows you to specifically target regions, rather than just Google.com (US) results.

The only restriction on Traffic Travis free users is that you can't save the report.

Keyword Sorter Tool Feature

In addition, Traffic Travis now has an improved Keyword Sorter Tool (found under keyword tools). You can now search the list based on Phrase Match or Broad Match.

What does this mean?

Originally Traffic Travis only searched Keywords by Phrase Match. So for the following list of keywords:

christmas reindeer
sled friendly reindeer
santas helpers
friendly reindeer
reindeer for sled pulling

If you searched for 'reindeer sled', you wouldn't get any results, as none of the keywords have the words 'reindeer sled' side by side. Now you can search using Broad Match, which finds all keywords that contain both words, in any order. So we would get:

sled friendly reindeer
reindeer for sled pulling

Now you might be saying - why don't we just do that all the time?

Well sometimes you want the words to be together, imagine if you were searching for 'new york'. If you giant list of phrases contained 'new duke of york' then it would match that, and thats not very handy.

So you can now search by Phrase Match, where the words must be in the same order, or Broad Match, where it finds keywords that have all the words in any order.

The latest release also has minor code tidy-ups and fixes that should make everything run more smoothly.

Enjoy!!

Traffic Travis SEO Software re-launch draws near

Mon, Jul 7th 2008, 10:32

The official launch of Traffic Travis 3 is getting nearer.

We've just released a private beta version of the software to in-house staff and trusted associates, and that's going to be getting a good beating around over the next few weeks as we iron out any remaining bugs.

For those of you who are unfamiliar with Traffic Travis in all his bespectacled glory, you might be wondering what the big hoo-hah is about.

Basically, Traffic Travis provides a huge complement of SEO research and page analysis tools, as well as a powerful host of PPC research and monitoring tools. Regardless of whether you're building a website for search engine optimization or pay-per-click, Traffic Travis is an indispensible research tool: tracking your own site's performance, and peeking under the hood of your competitors' sites as well. Tools include...

SEO TOOLS

  • Keyword research tools: Find, count and categorize your keywords from the one place.
  • Page analysis tool: Grab all that essential information like pagerank, traffic rank, meta tags, contact emails and keyword density for any website, with just the click of a button.
  • Dig the dirt on your backlinks, or your competitors' backlinks. This tool also delivers useful information like IP addresses and PageRank ... all important when you're evaluating the quality of backlinks.
  • Graphs and reports: Track your progress over time and see what effect your efforts are having on your search engine rankings.

PPC TOOLS

  • Find out who the top advertisers are for your keywords.
  • See which words your competitors are bidding on, and the position of their ad for a particular keyword.
  • Watch to see whether your competitors continue bidding on a keyword over time... this gives you a good indication that a keyword is profitable!
  • Track the movement of your competitors' ads over time. Do they go up or down in the ad rankings? Why do you think this is?
  • See whether there's a high turnover of advertisers for a particular keyword over time. This means that the keyword doesn't perform very well.

Aside from the obvious features and benefits to the software, there is the simple fact that, for the first time ever, Traffic Travis will be FREE for the general public.

Yup, that's right. We said "free".

The pumped up and feature-enhanced new Traffic Travis will be available from this website some time in the very near future! Stay tuned for a release date!
